The item for sale is a high quality glass cigar ash tray or dish made by the Steuben company of New York. The tray was designed by David Hill during the middle of the last century. The form is essentially sloping conical with an off center flat foot and an applied cigar holder with two grooves in it. The clarity and quality of the glass is super. This tray is also the variety with cranberry glass around the rim which Steuben does on rare occasions. The bowl is not signed on the base although this is identical to a well known signed Steuben design. The foot of the tray shows slight signs of table wear. Otherwise it is essentially as made. The height and diameter at the top without the holder are 2 1/2" and 8".
Dimensions: ~8" diameter x 3" tall
Condition: Excellent; expected age-related wear to base, light scratches, none noteworthly, pencil point chigger on inside lip immaterial to piece.
