Mid-Century CENEDESE MURANO Sommerso Glass Duck | Swan | Waterfowl Sculpture | Statue | Figurine
These beautiful Murano glass sommerso | submerged glass swans have been done by everyone from Flavio Poli (for Seguso) to Cenedese to Formia to Livio Seguso (no relation to Archimede) to Rafaelli, etc., and without a label or signature, certainty is hard to come by. My best guess here is Cenedese for the following reasons:
1) The construction of the beak, the eyes, and the angle at which the head swoops down from the body is most similar to Cenedese's easily identified scavo swan forms
2) The base wear is significant and suggestive of an older mid-century piece; Formia, Livio Seguso, and the more recent Murano glass firms' pieces tend to show little to no base wear.
Maker aside, this piece screams (and is narrow enough) for a window sill streaming with light, where its complex interwoven layers of golds and greens can be appreciated in all their exquisite glory.

Stunning glass swan figurine. The swan was in excellent condition, exactly as described and as pictured on the website. The seller packaged the item very securely, and it arrived promptly. Graceful Swan makes a beautiful addition to the bedroom decor.
