Words cannot adequately describe the beauty and utter perfection of this circa 1950 work of art. Cranberry glass, of course, is blown with gold added to the molten mixture, but the gold itself never seems to survive the process. Here, not only do cranberry and gold co-exist gloriously with an iridescent effect, but they appear suspended in the glass. It's this kind of artistry that Archimede Seguso is famous for, and while Murano glass lovers will recognize this conch shell as a classic Seguso design, the remnants of the scalloped red MADE IN ITALY label provides further proof of origin.
