Behold this magnificent extra-tall Blenko #6029 architectural glass decanter by Wayne Husted in an extraordinarily sunny JONQUIL! The standard Blenko catalog size for this piece is 27.5"—ours is over 30" tall, with the base nearly 18" tall and the rest is stopper. Though this dramatic large piece was produced from 1960 through 1964, their relative scarcity today suggests that they were not produced in great volume, not surprisingly given its ridiculously impractical size for serving. But as a display piece WHOO HOO--this towering beauty will light up your room!
The Blenko acid-etched stamp on the base suggests that our beauty here was produced either in 1960 or the first half of 1961, the early days of the design’s manufacture.
Given its long years and the unforgiving nature of the light Jonquil color where interior stains are highly visible, our decanter is in AMAZING condition. Only the interior base shows light mineral deposits—the rest of the bottle and stopper is sparkling clean. In fact, without these traces of use, one might swear the bottle never held liquid!
