This AMAZING 28" tall flat/round Italian cased glass decanter is a stunning rarity! Manufactured in MURANO, Italy in the 1960s, (not the Empoli region where much of the mid-century cased glass production took place, I was told, though it is being listed with the rest of our cased glass pieces), it was shipped to the US with its Balboa export label (there's another label with a lot number as well) for Paul's, a well-known NYC furniture/design store back in the day. And then, with Paul's bankruptcy, sat in storage for over 50 years! (I purchased this about seven years ago from the lucky fellow who acquired the inventory--an unbelievable trove of treasures!)
So what we have here is NEW/OLD stock--pretty much the holy grail of vintage anything! PERFECT condition, yet it was manufactured over 50 years ago!
