This lovely large pale orange and white opalino glass set of love bird sculptures is PROBABLY the work of Murano master Fratelli Toso, but I simply cannot find another set exactly like them! While the unusual crown/headpiece on these beauties is similar to that used by Archimede Seguso in their alabastro birds, I've only seen this unusual shade of opalescent orange used in Fratelli Toso designs. But let's make something abundantly clear--there is no doubt these beauties were made by a Murano master. Firstly, notice the perfectly formed crystal beaks and feet flecked with gold. Secondly, note the artful melding of the lattimo and translucent opalescent glass, where one color seamlessly blends into another (sfumato technique). In a market where MOST supposedly vintage Murano glass sculptures for sale are in fact recent Chinese production, these two hallmarks of high quality Murano glass ensure that you're getting the real thing! These beauties are in perfect PRISTINE condition but for a minor production issue (see the internal line/space in photo 3 in the large bird).
